  1. Congratulations on launching your podcast, Susan! I got chills listening to your beautiful voice in your opening statements. LOVE IT.
    I too have struggled with produce bags, especially now that I can’t lick my fingers due to wearing a mask. Now I walk nonchalantly over to the lettuce area and touch the edge of the display with my fingertips, and voila! I can open those elusive bags with ease. Another shopper once saw me do that and said, “Thank you! I wondered if there was an easy way to open these bags.” Encouragement abounds if we’re listening!

      I’ve never liked licking my fingers at the grocery store, even before COVID. My solution is to use the water from the spouts in refrigerated produce section. There are always stray droplets after a fresh spritzing.

  2. Susan — I agree with the others who said they loved hearing your voice! YOU SAY SO MUCH with so few words. I love this. I love your idea of a podcast. You have a voice which is easy to listen to. And yes, I TOO HAVE STRUGGLED WITH THOSE BAGS!! I did Instacart for about 3 months earlier this year and have learned which stores have the easiest and which the hardest to open. Weird I’d know those facts. Also, I learned how to quickly open bags in any of the stores. I loved the way you included details in your story which rooted us into it, and gave us the picture of the moment. Also, the line, “The asparagus wasn’t getting any younger…” It is a classic Brehmer humor line. I love your humor. This will get you out there for your voice is magic and beautiful. THANK YOU FOR SHARING THIS!
